One cold Christmas eve, a long time ago
a young boy watched out the window at the snow
as it fell to the ground finally covering the grass
the first Christmas snow arrived finally at last.
Out in the kitchen his mother was stirring
a warm cocoa drink, for the cold night occurring.
Next to the fire, in the snug living room
sat a plate full of cookies all ready to consume.
When all of a sudden the front doorbell rang.
followed by music carolers sang.
Opening the door a wonder was found
the magic of Christmas in beautiful sounds.
The carolers sang out of a Christmas long ago.
They sang of a sleigh that would dash through the snow.
They sang of the yuletide, of loving and joy.
Just the right songs to touch the heart of a boy.
They sang about reindeer, of how toys would appear.
they sang of being good because Santa was near.
Then a very special song made the evening just right
a song of the baby born that Silent Night.
Mother invited them all for cookies inside
and a cup of warm cocoa with marshmallows beside.
When the time finally came, for the carolers to dismiss,
one final song, a Merry Christmas wish.
Mother then hugged her son as she tucked him in bed
as the music of Christmas now rang in his head.
With a kiss on the cheek, she wished him good night
the little boy smiled, everything was alright.
The Christmas Eve snow had come just in time
As the little boy slept the midnight bell chimed.
Christmas had arrived what a wonderful sight
in a magical way that cold snowy night.
