Sprouting up from sleep, specks of life.
From their roots the sense of holiness.
Though harsh winter buried the grasses,
Spring has released life from its grip.
Young life crying out to be fed,
Crickets begin to sing in the night air.
A thousand years from now who will notice
As poets fashion poems from ancient times.
