The day you said good bye,
I thought for sure
that I would die.
I felt like I was ending,
but deep down
I was silently mending.
The pain was deep,
and made me afraid
to take the final leap
and save my heart
and very being
from your poisonous dart.
Your words cut,
they tore deep.
But now that door is shut.
You're out of my life,
so I suggest you stop trying to cause
me more painful strife.
