Angel's Dusk
by Tessa Carvill
(Ireland)
A smooth smile upon her face,
And a twinkle in her eye,
No one knew that this bubbly girl,
Inside she wanted to cry.
Her soft pale skin and rosy cheek,
And silky chestnut hair,
But in her mind she was alone,
And no one seemed to care.
A spark of light through faded dark,
Her mind it was a drift,
Through the forest she did run,
So quiet yet so swift.
With beating heart and panting chest,
She ran with clouded mind,
How far she ran, she did not know,
But people she did not find.
There she sat till dusk did break,
And mist turned into dew,
A broken girl in a messed up world,
And a life,she never knew....
