by Helen Alonso
(Florida)
His words
as steady as a
blade of grass
you pluck to strum
a note of brass
His eyes
so clear as
august mist
Rolling in with
rolling hips
His hands
as wanted and as firm
as mud that
shapes unchanging earth
His thoughts
as sure as tempest
storms
Leaving scars as swiftly
borne
My need as
balanced, clear as light
without a reason
or a right
Unwarranted as it
may be
I Love him
as a birch loves
leaves.
