Like a fairytale, a long time ago,
you were the best friend a girl could know.
There wasn't a day that we spent apart,
not even a second that you weren't in my heart.
Your family took me in and treated me as their own.
Y'all made sure that I was never alone.
I remember the day that Dad took me away.
I had no choice, there was nothing to say.
I see you now and I'm so happy for you.
You are just like a sister, and I love you.
