For My 5 year Old

Your days of preschool have come to an end.
You have grown so much and made many great friends.

Your letters are clear and words are so smart.
In a few months Kindergarten you will start.

You can do so many things; make your cereal, ride a bike.
You climb trees, can play games and know the foods you dislike.

If I could keep you little for a bit longer, I would.
But Jesus has big plans for you; and His plans are good.

May you walk this earth in safety and in love.
And always know the One who chose you lives up above.
