Desolate plains
Surrounded by murky oceans
Filled with chattering mortals

And yet
Some stand out from the crowd
Some are mere shadows surrounded by light

Filled with pain
Because nobody understands
They don't belong here

The heavens beckon
They want to leave this solitary confinement of flesh
They have no life

So they take it
And leave this cursed place

Beyond mortality

Beyond skin and blood

They are gods, towering over
Alone and forever alone no matter where they roam

We are not like you
