God's Work
By Liam Marino

If you think, that the people on food stamps,
are the ones stealing your fortunate advance,
You're on a rung of a ladder, climbing to ignorance.
looking down on the meek inheriting the earth.

You'll face your maker, if you have a conscience.
It will do you no good, to point a finger.
Your greed becomes top heavy, the ladder sways,
Down will go your denial with accusations you've made.

The people on the bottom want everything you do.
Most of them work harder than you too.
They get addicted, just like our rich children.
They get hungry,  it's  God's work to feed them.
