Why is the quilt a gracious piece?
It has colors and shapes all in place.
There are diamonds, squares and fans.
It is the result of long laid plans.
It has colors that match and colors in contrast.
The materials they hope will last.
A piece is saved from this and that.
They are placed in the quilters stack.
Put them together, a seam here, a seam there,
And lines of quilted stitches everywhere.
It has a matching binding all around
And when finished it is a treasure found.
