(Iowa)
Falling,
Faster and faster
Into a sea of nothing.
Eyes closing,
Barely breathing
As the darkness takes over.
Trying to keep hold of something real,
As you start to slowly slip away from reality
To a place all by yourself.
Thoughts whirl,
But you can’t keep hold of them
A jumbled mess.
Deep breath,
As you pray for some way out
Someone to care enough to bring you back.
Wish harder,
For someone to just be there
Pulling you out of your despair.
Find light,
And once you do never let it go
Because you never know what the darkness can hold
