Homework

When I get home from school
I go to my room
don't do my homework
just take off my shoes.

I twiddle around
with my fingers and thumbs
and then I realize
that I've got nothing done!

I go feed the cat
a kibble or two
then I sit on the couch
my homework's due!

I open my book
and start to write
and then I notice
It's half pasted midnight!

I walked in the room
the very next day
and notice a note
on the door right away.

It said no homework
that was such a relief
except for the fact
that there was a test this week!
