If Only

If life had given me a bit
of what has always been my desire
Perhaps I could not and would not be here now.
if life had given me just a little 'of what'
which is desire.
I would not have known the
compassion would not have known
pain and tears and
hope?
I never would have met if only my desires.
but I am so happy to be a bit 'sad,
a bit 'crazy
a little 'girl and a little' woman
but above all else with compassion,
love, sincerity and
if only my wishes had
taken shape I would never know
the universe if only one of my desires was
I would not have met you!
but most of all I
would not have known the true Love.
The one that you see every day and
what I see in
you!
