IN HONOR OF VICTORIA SOTO

On a cold clear December night
Gazing upon twinkling light
A prophecy or omen foretells
The ringing of school bells

Life so innocent and pure
For madness there’s no cure
Left to brave the icy night
Hearts left broke and contrite.

Gushing water tears that well
Another school the tolling bell
A tale of terror against the meek
Left to wale sounds that shriek.

Turbulent violence rings out
Victims left to flee and shout
But for a teacher you gave life
Students saved from death’s strife.

Deaf to the frantic ringing of gun fire
Children saved, your unselfish desire
A teacher’s bravery stories we’ll tell
Your memory rings as a Christmas bell..
