INTERSTELLAR RAIN

by Dr. Rick McGrath, Ph.D.

INTERSTELLAR RAIN

From the silence of darkness
Debris of interstellar rain
Came forth intellectual pain
That waters human brightness

Gazing upon an ancient past
Galaxies born while others collapse
Rivaled only by a child’s birth perhaps
As the arrow of time travels too fast

From the never and the always it comes
The mind that fathoms the unbelievable
From an idea of a particle this is conceivable
The notion of chance, the mind it numbs

From the gradient of the universal belief
We live for today unsure of tomorrow
Because the road is both wide and narrow
And when death comes, it comes as a thief.

Returned to the silence of darkness
Once the debris of interstellar rain
The arrow of time will remain
Invisible to the eye of human awareness.
