I said sweet words of sorrow.
Promised we would meet again tomorrow.
You made your way to the cafe, just to wait for hours on end.
While I went to party until half past ten.
You walked home in the rain that night.
While I gave up on you, on us, our fight.
I lied, you cried.
Years went by, women came and went.
But all the while I wished my time with you, I spent.
One day fate made it so again we met.
About me you had managed to forget.
To myself, I kept on lying.
But by now, you had stopped crying.
I've lost you once, I couldn't do it again.
This time, however, you desired of me nothing but a friend.
