by Amanda Blanchard
(North Carolina)
the things that grip
the mind of a man !
hold him so tight
few other thoughts can infiltrate -
is there more
than pleasing matter?
more than that which
can arouse the imagination?
pedestrian drivel can be heard
above the call of nature,
but animal instincts
are only so longly silenced -
a man once buttered by love
will forever crave the meal
