Moon Beams

by Loretta (laurie) Gibson
(Goderich, ontario - Canada)

As before the dream I would sleep for you,

a haunting cry into the forever night,

now I scream, a forbidden echo

to find the lost memories.

Searching, endlessly wandering,

my mind succumbs

to the boundless despair,

the fragile essence of hope

torn beyond repair.

I'm lost without you,

hopeless and forgotten,

forlorn in my loneliness,

even as I run, to you, from you.

I've become a secluded shadow

seeking only the moon,

cold and distant, and

beautifully free.
