MY LIFE

As I look back over my life and see
What is it that I will leave for legacy?
I fought for my country with honor
A war not popular one of dishonor.

I worked hard all my life to support
Raised five children is my report
Many with children of their own
All are raised by way of cell phone.

I have been married for forty-one years
Most happily but then without tears
I have been rich and I have seen poor
Been of good health dare I ask more?

Ready to retire and take long walks
Sit and write passing time on clocks
Looking forward to new adventure
Maybe try my hand in a joint venture.

Whatever my tomorrow will bring
I know a new song I will sing
With my wife hand in hand
Playing our song on a baby grand.
