by Amanda Blanchard
(North Carolina)
you hide beneath the sheets
and fiddle with the puppetry
playing out scenes
that want a standing ovation -
the comedy is high and low
spawning giggles from the masses
the drama so serious
it hits the right notes
and the swordplay
so well choreographed
it leaves the crowd in satisfied awe
and the player puppets,
being so grateful, bow to the audience
and blow them kisses
