by Angharad Elizabeth Ruth Owens
(UK, Portsmouth)
From the top.
Curled, wild.
Then December eyes
which hold within them
The sea on which I float.
Swan neck slopes to
Shoulders
Which carry my burdens,
Sadness,
Joys of my life.
Arms to embrace,
Play my music, hold.
His chest swells
With a tide of emotion,
And is my haven.
Two strong legs
Rooted in my world,
Carry me far over
Unknown horizons
To a new dawn.
You are suicidally beautiful
Fallen angel.
Like staring at the sun,
If I look for too long
I am blinded
By your desperate beauty.
Bird of paradise
Shall I watch you fly away
To return to me
With brighter plumage?
Or can I keep you here
Where I ache.
Where I love.
Where I compose my symphony
Dedicated to your
Desperate beauty.
