Thanks Dad, for just being there

by Maureen Dennis
(Johanesburg, South Africa)

Thanks Dad, for just being there, and showing you care
I’ve watched as you sit there, in your chair
Knowing who’s been there all along, right or wrong
Big Mac Donald taking control, is his life’s goal
Leaving everyone one else out, without a doubt
Without a care, you’d swear he was the heir
His own life falling apart, but puts more baggage in his cart
I wonder why, as I sit here and cry
What is the reason, who’s he really pleasing
