That child in me
wants to relive her childhood,
She wants to fly a kite
and sail her paper boat,
That child in me
dreams to explore the world,
And break the boundaries of society
to be a free bird again,
That child in me
desires to get drenched in rain,
She just wants to hold
that rainbow in her hands,
That child in me
disappears within myself,
Finding a way out of social customs
that killed her before birth,
That child in me
prays to be born again,
To experience God’s gift
and cherish the cycle of life.
