The Dusty Roads Part 2

by Yard Arm
(USA)

Now she is on her way,
All savvy & proud

Not looking back
Or saying “Thank You”

I’m sad for her being so shallow
And thankless

From the dusty roads to all
The glamour & glitter again she goes

I am proud to be the one
She chose to lean on

Hoping she learned from these dusty roads

Maybe some day to these
Dusty roads she’ll return

With her beauty & charm
To find another, to lie and use

Then she may learn, these
Dusty roads made her shine

May she never forget where,
She came from & from who she learned

Nor a mat or a ladder,
I’m the one that dusted her off

I’m Not the one,
LEFT BEHIND !
