A candle alone is not a sight to envy
While pretty to look at it does not catch the eye
Until it is kissed by flame’s lips you see
They come alive more so as time goes by
Flame gives life to the candle and so in turn
Candle helps it shine bright for all to admire
But candle grows shorter so flame can burn
Still flame follows it down with slow loving fire
Both love and give as much as they do take
As each fades their love just grows yet stronger
Flame’s dance is for candle with not one mistake
Down they go till this world can contain their love no longer
We could learn a lesson from them you see
They give till nothing is left and they’re set free
