THE GOOD NIGHT
Do not go gentle into the good night
You have survived the trials of day
Press on before the coming light
Rugged and built of old your way
Do not go gentle into the good night
Though by measure you are frail
In time there’s an end that’s right
An example left for us to hail.
Do not go gentle into the good night
I am who I am from what you taught
Taught the difference of wrong and right
Now I live and do as I rightly ought.
Do not go gentle into the good night
As you lay, my father, know my love
From once you came now into the light
If you go, look down on us from above.
Do not go gentle into the good night
We know you have lived life good
The Lord your Savior now heaven bright
You always did for us what you could.
“If it’s time, go with our love into the Good Night!”
