"The Jay"
Glimpsed
Through clear panes
Blue jay perches on branch, vigilant
A Marine in full dress.
Descending in soft hush, snow falls.
Bird
Fanned tail spread,
Swoops, give chase to bold brash intruders
With brusque braying of jaaaaay.
Splintering quietude. Snow falls.
