Touching His Garment
by Shirley Denton
(Dayton, Ohio)
At the wake of day I began to pray
many burdens I had to share
my eyes filled with tears as I called out to Him
fears consumed my mind
no peace could I find
Lord I know you are here
you never forsake me
when I'm in need
Oh merciful father if I could just touch your garment
rivers of healing waters would rush over my wounded body
Stay near me Lord for I'm weak and you are strong
I shall praise you in my sickness till night consumes the day
holding onto faith with every breath I pray
