Twilight

by Cassandre Smith
(Ohio)

Awakening, sunbeam shredding
The curtains, barrier, barbed, yet cotton
Enter daylight, exit...exit...exit!

Loving, souls colliding
With urgency, intoxicating, frightful, yet reassuring
Enter passion, exit...exit...exit!

Existing, turmoil spiraling
Towards a hollow abyss, sorrowful, delightful, yet paradoxical
Enter despair, exit...exit...exit!

Sleeping, moonbeam gliding
Upon his forehead, glowing, illuminating, yet...
Enter twilight, enter...enter...enter!
