Understand
If we were to touch fingertips
To fold the lines of our bodies together
Making elaborate origami
Until it was forgotten whose parts were whose,
Would you understand?
If we rested
Side by side, face to face, body to body
No space to hide anything
Keeping it all just open,
Would you understand?
If we breathe the same air
And we walk the same steps
Nearly the same person in mind, body, spirit
Never once doubting anything
Would you understand?
This mutual attraction could be so much more
If only you were willing to let go
Take your hands away and just fall
Fall in a way that you can feel
Your heart, my heart, our heart.
It would be okay to do that.
Do you understand?
