i have a love
that is not known
to anyone but me.
he has bright blue eyes
that twinkle like the stars
every time he looks at me.
but woe the day
that i have found
another girl within his grasp.
he kissed her with such passion
and held her close to him.
and when he looked into her eyes it just about broke my heart.
i grabbed a dagger that shone in the light
sharp and meant to kill.
i plunged it into my open chest
and gasped when i felt its steel.
darkness creeping and light fading
i slide to the floor
crying his name out one last time
i rose nevermore
