by Abbey (15 years old)
When I was little, everything was so simple.
I was worried about what dress to wear,
Not what boy liked me and chemistry homework.
All these thoughts in my head are driving me crazy.
To do lists, and rumors, homework and chores.
My life was so simple back then.
Now I’m going crazy! I don’t want to grow up.
I don’t want to make choices that can decide my whole life.
Medicines for depression, and surgeries that take away pain,
Teasing and bullying,
ADHD, anxiety, and not fitting in.
Boyfriends and homework,
Family, a broken home,
Money and death….
When I was little,
I picked out a dress,
And now, there’s all this.
