You say that you’re a doctor
Even though you’re just a donor
You say that you’re the lawyer
But you’re just a Tom Sawyer
Why say you ARE.. When you know you’re Not
And be caught up in the game of “What-You’re-Not”
You say you’re loaded! got money to burn
Yet your appearance reflects a lack of concern
You say you’re gifted and talented but in fact
You have no credentials! nothing to make an impact
Why say you ARE.. when you know that you’re Not
And be caught up in the game of “What-You’re-Not”
You pretend to be meek and as timid as a mouse
All the while enjoying life in your big 'ole glass house
Walking around with so little pep in your step
Hoping that your deeds will remain quite well kept
Why say you ARE.. when you know that you’re Not
And be caught up in the game of “What-You’re-Not”
You say you were raised with a gold spoon in your mouth
How you were raised was actually without any couth
Fighting like everyone else to keep your head afloat
Never ever privileged to live surrounded by a moat
Why say you ARE.. when you know that you’re Not
And be caught up in that game of “What-You’re-Not”
Stop profiling and bragging about your great lot
Look how close you came to sleeping on a cot
Life is not about the grand scheme of make believe
It is about working, striving, and a will to achieve
So Why say you ARE.. when you know that you’re Not
And be caught up in the game of “What-You’re-Not”
