Sometimes just words
Can pierce through the heart
Plain simple words
Can be the reason for pain's start.

Who says only bullets and knives kill?
Who says poison and suffocation take life?
Has anyone ever thought
Words are deadlier than a knife?

With tinge of hatred
And traces of pain
Words hit like the strong merciless wind
Tears flow like rain.

Soft words from someone close
Can heal wounds of years
But harsh words
Leave one with tears.

Why is a heart so sensitive?
Why do words pierce in so easily?
Why does a smile fade off
When their harsh words strike me?

A mistake is a mistake
A sin is a sin
Repenting for them includes bearing the words
Will I be forgiven?
